Hardcore Manufacturing Goes Global: Overseas Chinese Media Visit Shenyang's Sany Heavy Equipment

On September 21, the 2026 'Chasing the Chinese Dream, Discovering Liaoning' delegation visited Sany Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd. in Shenyang's Tiexi District, getting a close look at the hardcore manufacturing strength of this leading mining equipment enterprise, which holds to its mission of 'Quality Changes the World' while rooted in Liaoning's historic industrial base.
Sany Heavy Equipment was founded in 2004 as a wholly-owned core subsidiary of Sany International, and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in November 2009 (stock code HK.00631), focusing on the R&D, manufacturing and sale of complete equipment sets for coal tunneling, mining and transport. The company has been recognized as a National Enterprise Technology Center, a National High-Tech Enterprise, a National Innovation Demonstration Enterprise, a National Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Factory, a National Green Factory and Green Supply Chain, and a National Service-Oriented Demonstration Enterprise — a widely acknowledged industry benchmark.
The company's products span three core segments: tunneling machines, complete mechanized mining equipment sets (coal shearers, scraper conveyors and hydraulic supports), and mining vehicles. Its tunneling machines have held the top domestic market share since 2008 and earned recognition as a national single-item champion product. Sany Heavy Equipment is also the first domestic company able to supply complete mechanized mining equipment sets, and has self-developed the world's first pure-water hydraulic support — lowering production costs and improving mining efficiency while supporting green mining — while its wide-body mining trucks hold the country's top export market share.
The delegation's visit happened to coincide with the roll-off ceremony for Sany Heavy Equipment's 12,000th tunneling machine, and the atmosphere on site was electric. That milestone figure is the clearest possible illustration of why the company's tunneling machines have held the top domestic market share for years running. Walking through the spacious, brightly lit main assembly workshop, the overseas Chinese-language media representatives watched the assembly of wide-body mining trucks up close, getting a firsthand feel for the rigorous production process and solid quality control behind a major heavy-equipment manufacturer.
In recent years, Sany Heavy Equipment has also pushed into non-coal sectors, launching new products such as tunnel excavation and non-coal mine excavation equipment that fill gaps in domestic technology. Its equipment now serves nearly 3,000 mines across China and is exported to markets including Indonesia, Argentina, Australia and South Africa, carrying China's smart manufacturing out into the world.
Inside the company's exhibition hall, a wall documenting Sany Heavy Equipment's journey overseas stood out in particular: in 2014, during President Xi Jinping's state visit to Brazil, he personally witnessed the signing ceremony for Sany's investment project there — a standout moment in the company's international development. That same outward-looking spirit continues today: from South America to Southeast Asia, from Oceania to the African continent, an increasing number of SANY-branded heavy machines are now hard at work on mining frontlines around the globe.
