Into Hunnan Science City: Overseas Chinese Media Tour Explores Shenyang's New Innovation Landmark

On September 19, the 2026 'Chasing the Chinese Dream, Discovering Liaoning' overseas Chinese-language media delegation visited Shenyang's Hunnan Science City and toured the China Technology Exchange (Shenyang) Science and Innovation Center on site. Representatives from 17 overseas Chinese-language media outlets across 12 countries and regions, together with five central Chinese media outlets, took a close look at this key hub in Liaoning's effort to build a regional science and technology innovation center with nationwide influence. Located within the Shenyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Hunnan Science City benefits from a concentration of scientific and educational resources and convenient transport links; since its core functional area opened, a growing wave of technology projects has taken root there, gradually establishing it as a demonstration zone leading the development of new quality productive forces.
Inside the planning exhibition hall, the delegation learned about Hunnan District's development positioning and overall master plan, gaining a direct sense of the area's transition from the construction phase into full operation. The delegation also visited the dedicated space for the robotics industry under the 'one city, three parks, two bases' layout, observing up close the progress of Hunnan Science City's development as a wellspring of technological innovation and the results of its digital management systems, while learning about local practices in building innovation platforms, attracting and cultivating talent, and rounding out supporting policies — leaving a strong impression of the area's entrepreneurial and innovative atmosphere.
Hunnan Science City aims to become a city of science, innovation and ecology capable of meeting the needs of scientists, entrepreneurs and young founders alike — one that continuously produces innovative achievements, gathers top talent and cultivates new quality productive forces. Local officials said they would keep pushing for deeper integration between scientific and industrial innovation, aiming to become a frontrunner among the country's key wellsprings of technological innovation and to help Shenyang chart new ground in China's path toward modernization.
